Real Madrid 1 – 3 Juventus: Player ratings from the UCL second leg
By Hasan Karim
Midfield
Toni Kroos: 8.5/10
Kroos was easily the second best player on the field tonight. His passing was crisp and his work rate was sensational. The German covered so much ground that it was impossible for the Juventus players to track him. He linked exceptionally well with Isco and Ronaldo all night, continually finding pockets of space and creating space for his teammates. Easily the best midfielder in the team.

Casemiro: 5/10
Casemiro in the first leg? Exceptional! Casemiro tonight? Woeful!
The Brazilian was a mess. He seemed to have forgotten how to play football! He was ineffectual for the entirety of his time on the pitch and that in itself is shocking. The defensive midfielder (sometimes seen playing as a striker – I wish I was kidding) is usually a stalwart in big games. Tonight he was useless. No more words. Pray for improvement in the next round.
Luka Modric: 6.5/10
I still cannot quite believe Modric played a game badly. When does that ever happen? Aside from the time he cut his hair in that dreaded 2014/15 season – I’m convinced that wasn’t Modric but an imposter *puts tin foil hat away.*
Anyway, Modric had some moments of brilliance, though he seemed to have picked up an knock *uh oh* and wasn’t quite right following that. Generally he wasn’t awful but he wasn’t all that good either.
