A future star at Real Madrid: Miguel Baeza
By Ben Sundock
If you haven’t heard the name, Miguel Baeza, before this article, expect to hear a lot more about him in the near future. The 18-year-old center attacking midfielder is on course to be a star at Real Madrid.
Lanky and quick would be the two words I would use to describe midfielder, Miguel Baeza based on the film I’ve seen. The youngster has become a playmaker with the Real Madrid Juvenil A side (U-19) in just over a half a season.
Miguel was promoted from the U-18 team up to the Juvenil A side in July of 2017 and has been a force in every competition. In the UEFA Youth League, the youngster has four goals and two assists in nine appearances playing some of the best young talent in Europe.
Miguel was heavily scouted for several years before getting the call from Real Madrid. He was brought into La Fabrica in the late summer of 2012 and has worked his way up to the U-19 team.
His most impressive accolade to date his earning the most valuable player at the biggest U-17 tournament in the world, the Al Kass, last season.
The Spanish player has served on international duty with La Roja, playing for the U-16, U-17, and U-19 teams all in the last few years.
Zinedine Zidane has taken notice of the young midfielder’s promising future and called him up to first team training a week ago.
On the Real Madrid website, the praise for Miguel is very clear with the short description of the 18-year-old reading, “A winger with a powerful shot, which allows him to cross in to assist the strikers and shoot on goal. He dribbles beautifully and is intelligent in understanding play and his teammates. He shoots well on goal and gets up the field well.”
To summarize, Baeza is somewhat like Marco Asensio. Smart tactically, dangerous going forward, and not afraid to dribble through defenders.
The good thing about having a player like this already at the club is his price will only go up from here. While we may not see him on the first team for another four or five years, this kid certainly has the potential to be the next Isco or Asensio once his time comes.

The Cordoba-born CAM needs to stay focused on his development and not listen to the noise of excited Real Madrid fans buzzing around him. Hopefully, Zizou will continue to call him for training sessions and let him get some work in with the first-team players.
Keep an eye on Miguel Baeza. He may be a star at this club before you know it.
