Thomas Muller vs. Marcelo

The Ramdeuter is likely to be positioned out wide on the right in place of Arjen Robben, who at 34, has witnessed his pace down that flank plummet dramatically. Muller would be a better fit in the case and a genuine threat down the channel.

Marcelo will certainly have his hands full against him.

In the 3-1 home defeat to Juventus, he was found out of position in the build-up to the first goal, while he let Lichsteiner drift inside unchallenged for the second.

The Brazilian is an excellent help in the attack without a doubt. But this lack of positional awareness is something he needs to work on.

Muller is a similar threat in regards that he thrives in laying key passes and delivering crosses inside the area. If afforded the space, he can be a menace. In nine starts as a right winger, he’s scored twice and added six assists.

Marcelo will have to keep a watchful eye on his movements, should he start the game.
