3 Reasons why Real Madrid should not sign Neymar Jr
3. Personnel Priorities
It would certainly be great to add to Madrid’s attacking line but is a winger something that Madrid necessarily needs? Real currently possess a wealth of attacking options. Zidane’s typical formation is a simple 4-3-3, this means at any given time there are four attacking players sitting on the bench.
Madrid’s two biggest priorities right now are a striker and in defense. Many are asking for Ronaldo to revert to being CR9 but the man himself simply does not want that.
Stiker
Karim Benzema has certainly stepped it up in the last couple of weeks for Real Madrid. But when looking at his season as a whole there is no way a top tier club can succeed with that inconsistency. Real Madrid should be focused on securing themselves another striker as Borja Mayoral is too young and not ready for such a high level of demand and play.
Defence
In defence, Marcelo and Theo Hernandez are the only true left-backs. Marcelo has played an insane amount of minutes this season simply because Theo is not yet ready to take over half of Marcelo’s workload. Either working Theo into the system or getting another left-back is Uncle Flo’s only option.
In the center-back position Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane are getting the job done. Nacho, of course, has filled in many times when either one has been absent and has done a super job. That doesn’t mean a centre-back would not be of help. Jesus Vallejo will certainly be the future of Madrid’s defence but the youngster is not yet ready for such a task.
The right-back position surely needs another player in that position. Apart from Dani Carvajal, there is only 19-year-old Achraf Hakimi. Zidane struggled plenty this past month with Dani injured that he opted to play Lucas Vazquez in his place rather than Achraf. That move alone should speak volumes as to what the priority of this club is.
