The Real Madrid squad has finally regained full health as the whole first-team trained together ahead of this weekend’s La Liga fixture. Here’s how the team is looking ahead of the biggest match of the season.

Over the course of the season, players are bound to get injured, some more severe than others. At Real Madrid, this could not be truer given the intense season the club partakes in. Being a top-flight club takes a lot out of the team.

Every season, Real Madrid is involved in at least three competitions. Depending on their success in the previous season, it could be a maximum of six trophies to chase.

This season has brought about several injuries to the squad, most recently to Dani Carvajal and Cristiano Ronaldo. Dani picked up an injury against Bayern Munich in the first-leg of the semifinal in Champions League. Cristiano Ronaldo rolled his ankle during the Clásico in La Liga action a couple weekends ago.

With La Liga wrapped up, both players can take their time to recover in preparation for the Champions League Final later this month. Ronaldo and Carvajal spent a few weeks recovering away from the first-team as a means to regain strength without having to worry about contact.

In having Cristiano and Dani back and in full fitness, this means that Zidane will have the full squad available to him to face Liverpool. Zidane being able to play the full squad together certainly helps in improving the cohesion amongst players. He will most likely give minutes to both players this weekend against Villarreal in an effort to get them back into rhythm.

The full squad back will be ever so important as Real Madrid chase their fourth title in five years. The Final will take place in just nine days.

Ronaldo and Carvajal have both been influential factors in Real’s campaign this season. During last year’s Final against Juventus, Ronaldo scored two goals with Carvajal picking up an assist.

Before the big final this weekend, Real Madrid will play their last La Liga fixture of the season. They will visit El Madrigal to face off against Villareal. In the event that Atletico Madrid lose their final match and Real pick up all three points, Los Blanco’s could finish the season second in the table.
