The transfer window is now in full swing and as has been the case for a couple of years now, Manchester United manager and former Real Madrid boss, José Mourinho, is trying to poach a handful of Real players. Sorry José, it’s not happening!

Over the last week and a half, Man U has targeted two important Real Madrid first-team players. The first being Gareth Bale for what seems like the tenth time in the last few years. Almost every transfer window, rumors swirl that Bale is bound to return to the Premier League and The Red Devils will be his landing spot.

As I discussed in my article yesterday, there is simply no way Gareth leaves after Zidane’s unexpected decision to step down from his post. His form at the end of the season combined with his value moving forward is undeniable.

Thus, a move to Manchester does not make sense on several levels. For one, United has a surplus of forwards and Mourinho has already proven that he doesn’t want to use a handful of those players (Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and for the first half of the season, Henrikh Mkhitaryan).

José looks at Gareth as one of the best players in the world, therefore making him one of their top targets, but ESPNFC has reported that Los Blancos have given no indication to the English side that they will even take offers for the winger.

The Welsh international is not the only player José has voiced his interest in. Midfielder Mateo Kovacic, looked at by many Madridistas as the next Luka Modric, has been added to the shortlist this summer.

Mateo voiced his desire to play regular minutes, whether that be at Real Madrid or elsewhere, and United has thrown their hat in the ring to acquire the Croatian. In an interview shortly after the Champions League Final, Kovacic said the following:

"“I believe I’ll play more, whether in Real or somewhere else,” he said. “Now is the time for me to play. Offers? I am under contract with Real and I wish not to comment on other clubs.”"

The 24-year-old makes a good point about the lack of starts he received during last season, but he did still play meaningful minutes. And based off of his performances, I think this might have been his best season in Spain yet.

He is a valuable depth player right now, much like Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez, and he is bound to be a regular starter in the very near future.

Next: Sadio Mane to Real Madrid could happen but there’s a problem

In closing, José needs to back off and look elsewhere for signings this summer. I am rather certain President Florentino Perez is not open to the idea of selling to the man who wreaked havoc on the club during his stint between 2010 and 2013.

So get your hands off Real Madrid players José! You aren’t getting any of them!
