For some unexplainable reason, wild transfer rumors have been surrounding French striker Karim Benzema. Claims by multiple news outlets and agents over the last couple of weeks have stated that the Real Madrid number nine will soon be heading to Italy. Don’t believe the gossip Madridistas!
Don’t count on The Big Benz heading anywhere in the next couple weeks. After I thought he should’ve been sold last summer, there is absolutely no chance the striker who is approaching his 10th year at the club will leave now.
But for some reason, several different outlets are trying to spin the idea that Benzema will leave Spain in favor of Italy. The most recent rumor has come from Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis who disrespected the Madrid striker by saying that his club was not interested in signing him because he is “too old.”
The number nine’s response to the president of the club from Naples was pretty funny as he said, “Another madman to add to the list. The No.9 makes them crazy.”
Napoli was not the only club to be in pursuit of Karim as AC Milan was also trying to get an asking price from President Florentino Perez and the Madrid board. However, Real Madrid was adamant that it would take €100 million to bring over the declining striker.
So, taking both of these reports into consideration, there is simply no way Karim leaves this summer despite what the media might think. He has become a core piece of this team and much like Sergio Ramos and Marcelo, has been around for so many achievements it seems impossible for him to be transferred.
I have been a Karim hater for some time now, but I want to see him succeed because I want to see this club succeed. Maybe, this is the season he shakes off his recent poor form and he manages to return to that glory we saw just three or four years ago.

As long as Borja Mayoral is the backup, there is simply no chance Karim Benzema leaves. I cannot imagine Borja being a starter and I don’t think anyone else could.
Let’s hope that Borja and Karim can both carry more of the load this season with Cristiano Ronaldo now gone. They will need to go big if this team wants to again win the Champions League and La Liga.
