Real Madrid is set to face off against Manchester United tonight in Miami, Florida. Although we shouldn’t put much emphasis on preseason games, the younger players need these games to validate their place in the squad.

Real Madrid’s young players such as Vinicius Jr., Broja Mayoral, and Martin Odegaard are the main prospects that will be analyzed tonight. They all have high attacking qualities and are hungry to cement their place in the squad. The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo means that the club will be looking for replacements on the wing.

Vinicius Jr. is not confirmed to be a first team player yet. It has been said that he could be registered for Real Madrid B. Additionally, the B side isn’t in the first division, which can cause potential developmental problems.

Hopefully, we’ll get to see him play a lot tonight. He’s a top talent after all and Real Madrid made a very good investment. The Brazilian’s preseason highlights have been phenomenal as well. He’s looked sharp, quick, and smart on the ball.

Another youngster that will be looked at is Martin Odegaard. The 19-year-old came to the club in 2015 and has mostly featured for the B side. His recent loan to Heerenveen has allowed him to receive more playing time.

The club’s midfield is very packed. Odegaard being an attacking midfielder finds him in a tough situation. Real Madrid has had a stable midfield of Kroos, Casemiro, and Modric. With Mateo Kovacic and Marcos Llorente the backups when the starters rest.

The ICC fixtures will be key for him to get minutes next season. Manager Julen Lopetegui has a plan for next season and the squad will experience a revitalization.

Borja Mayoral is another young player who can shine against Manchester United. He’s been resourceful with the minutes he received last season and is hungry for more. Karim Benzema is the main striker that will be used next season but Mayoral can definitely be used more.

The 21-year-old is hard working and can bring the best out of tough situations. Playing well tonight will allow Lopetegui to give Mayoral major minutes in La Liga next season.

Mayoral has shown potential in the Champion’s League and La Liga and scored in both last season. A solid performance against United can give the club a better idea of how to utilize not only Mayoral but Vinicius Jr and Odegaard in Real Madrid’s transition next season.
