Real Madrid has loaned out Mateo Kovacic for one season to Chelsea FC, a move that he wanted for some time. Unlike in most cases, Madrid doesn’t need to scramble to look outside for replacements.

Mateo Kovacic leaving Real Madrid isn’t so bad. Call me an obnoxious optimist, delusional or whatever you may but let me preface that before you decide to reach through the screen and choke me till my face turns blue. I personally enjoy Mateo’s playing style and work rate on the pitch, I think he’s a class player but some things just aren’t meant to be.
