Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has been awarded the player of the month after putting up some incredible numbers in August. Here’s a look at how he earned the award.

Gareth Bale has been tearing up the pitch since the start of the season. The winger picked up right where he left off last season. Part of this could be due to his more relaxed summer as Wales did not qualify for the World Cup. Nonetheless, he’s been getting it done for his team, here’s a look at his first month of the season.

Along with all his club titles, Bale has earned himself the Mahou Cinco Estrellas Player of the Month award. The winner of the award is decided by the fans who cast their votes via social media. This, of course, is great to hear as the Welshman hasn’t been popular amongst fans in recent time.

Real Madrid played just three games in the month of August. The first match of the season was the UEFA Super Cup showdown against Atletico Madrid, with the final two being La Liga matches.

While the Super Cup didn’t go to plan Bale did his very best in finishing off the game with an assist.   When it comes to La Liga though Gareth has been soaring to new heights. He has now scored in last 7 games, a goal in both matches that took place last month.

Bale made sure to get started quickly in replacing the goals of Cristiano Ronaldo, slotting home his first just nine minutes into the season. In the second game he bagged himself another goal and lended a helping hand with a neat assist.

The Welshman is currently in some of the best form of his career. He looks energised and full of life. Not only has he been making an impact to his own game but he’s been making those around him better. With Asensio on the opposite side of the pitch, Bale ensures that Madrid’s attack causes problems on both flanks.

Bale has played 249 of a possible 270 minutes in La Liga so far this season. Hopefully Julen Lopetegui will give the fire breathing Welshman a rest as competition intensifies in the month of September.
