First things first, every single starter on the field for Real Madrid has played in a Champion’s league final and won. Real Madrid did not just win those three titles in a row because of two men who have now left them.

They have the same back line who all were up for the team of the year, the same goalkeeper who is up for goalkeeper of the year, and the same midfield that has been dominating Europe for the last 5 years. Sergio Ramos leading the back line with the likes of Marcelo, Varane, and Carvajal is still one of the best defences in the world and still strike fear into the hearts of their opponents.

Toni Kroos and Luka Modric seem to be on a different level when it comes to the Champions League, and arguably the two best midfielders in the world seem to be ageing very gracefully as well. Modric is even coming off of a World cup where he was recognized as the best player in the tournament. Then you have Casemiro to hold it down behind them and add that intimidation factor.

Finally, up top, you have Karim Benzema who was recently named an assistant captain and is top five in the Champions League all-time top scorers. Then you have the man who has accepted all the responsibility thrown at him up top and just making a mess of defences Gareth Bale…The Dragon. With Bale on this side and remaining inform defences should be scared because, with Gareth Bale healthy we saw glimpses of it last year, and even in the Final with his game-winner, Gareth Bale is a problem no defence wants to deal with.
