Real Madrid will host Italian side Roma in the first game of the 2018/19 Champions Leauge campaign. We measure up tomorrow’s competition and what to look out for.
It felt like just a week ago that Real Madrid was once again triumphant on the European stage as they downed Liverpool in Kiev. In reality, the time has flown by and we’re now in mid-September, that means it’s the start of the Champions League. Of course Real earned their spot in the competition after winning it for the third consecutive time.
Real Madrid has been placed into Group G along with Roma (Italy), Viktoria Plezn FC (Czech) and PFC CSKA Moscow (Russia). Madrid has been tipped as the favourites to win the group but upsets have happened and this team is not immune to them. The first match in the 2018/19 campaign will take place on Wednesday at 9:00 PM local time.
Starting with a clean sheet means there is only room for improvement, but previous chapters have been written on the finest papers with the fanciest of inks. Expectations are high for this Real Madrid squad, despite the departure of the biggest player to ever partake in the competition.
