Real Madrid played their first Champions League match of the season against Roma and showed up big with a huge win. Here’s a look at the player ratings from the match.

Los Blancos have done what many were unsure about. Granted it’s just game one and it’s only the group stage but a win is a win. Despite Mr Champions League (Cristiano Ronaldo) having left Real, other players stepped up to plate and smashed it out of the park.

The midfield dominated the match and Madrid controlled possession with ease. Casemiro was effective as ever in ensuring his side were able to do so. The Isco and Bale whisked around the pitch causing trouble whenever they could.
