Defence

Keylor Navas – 8

Navas didn’t have to come up against a whole lot as his side dominated the possession. But when he was called up he made no mistake. Keylor mad an incredible diving save in the second half stealing what would have been a highlight reel goal. He made sure to lighten the pressure on his men and earned himself a well deserved clean sheet.

Dani Carvajal – 7.5

It seems that Dani Carvajal has put himself on notice with the arrival of Alvaro Odriazola. The winger had a great game playing his fifth straight full game. Carvajal registered four tackles and two interceptions. Dani contributed 6 crosses and went three for four on long balls all while playing a tidy game finishing off with a 91.8% pass accuracy.

Raphael Varane – 7.5

With Madrid dominating most of the possession there wasn’t a whole lot for Varane to do. The Frenchman had three clearances on the night. His positioning beside Ramos was on point preventing Roma from breaking in on Navas.

Sergio Ramos – 7.5

Another swell performance from the Capitan. Like Varane not a whole lot do over 90 minutes. Madrid dominated so much so that he started going forward hoping to score a goal of his own. The centre-back came very close from a header which he connected with on a set piece. Sergio had two tackles and clearances as well as one blocked shot.

Marcelo – 7.5

Marcelo was having a field day against Roma as their midfield was absent for much of the match. As a result, the wing back flew high up the pitch getting into the attacking play. He linked up well with Isco who was also on the left-hand side and provided the assist to Mariano Diaz’s screamer.
