Attack

Gareth Bale – 8

Another great display from the Welshman who was all over the pitch against Roma. He dominated the wing, came centrally when space was available and even dropped deep when Roma broke out. His goal was an absolute pearl, scoring in the fashion in which he does so well. Gareth hoped on his bike and raced down the pitch to pick up Modric’s perfect through ball, one touch to control and the other to fire past the keeper on the far post.

Karim Benzema – 6.5

Much like the game against Bilbao, the French striker looked somewhat sluggish. Midfielder Toni Kroos took more shots, and with all the gaps it’s a wonder as to why he didn’t. Nonetheless, his link-up play in and around the box was great. Maybe a rest from this weekends match will do him some good.

Isco – 9

No doubt the man of the match, Isco had another memorable performance. Drifting into spaces, and working hard to build the attacking play it should come as no surprise as to why Julen adores him. Isco’s sublime free-kick dipped so much it nearly hit the pitch inside of the goal, the keeper was left flat-footed and could do no more than be a witness. His threaded pass to Marco Asensio almost had him the assist man to what would have been a majestic goal from Marco.
