Copa Del Rey: Real Madrid take care of business in North Africa
By Ben Sundock
Players who struggled
In a shutout win on the road, it is hard to point fingers, but there were some less than stellar performances from Real Madrid players.
Lucas Vazquez
Poor, poor Lucas. He was getting to all the right areas and passing the ball well, but he couldn’t finish. He had three one-on-one opportunities and didn’t manage a goal.
While for this match it did little harm to his side, he has to be converting those clear-cut chances. Lucas is known as more of a passer and the ‘assist man’ but he is also a forward. Forwards need to contribute in every way possible.
Dani Ceballos
Dani didn’t have the worst match, but he was a ghost for much of the first half. He took a nasty fall when he lost his footing due to the rain and poor pitch conditions and never recovered.
At first, I was afraid he had seriously hurt his knee the way he lay on the field in pain. But, after just a minute talking to the medical staff on the bench, he returned to action and completed the match, however, he did not look like himself after the fall.
