Champions League: Three takeaways from Real Madrid’s rout of Viktoria Plzen

Solari ball has me feeling some type of way
What does Real Madrid need to do to be successful? They need a manager who used to play for the club and had experience with the Castilla team to relieve an out of favor manager.
Now, I don’t want to overexaggerate anything yet since Santiago Solari has been at the helm for just three matches, but wow has it been a great three matches. Real Madrid has won three matches in three competitions under Solari and has yet to concede a goal – a combined score of 10-0 in the three matches.
This was again a heavily rotated squad the former Madrid midfielder put out tonight, but my goodness did it work.
Toni Kroos and Casemiro controlled the midfield with ease and did a great job freeing up the forwards in the final third. Gareth Bale scored his first goal in seven matches and had a great assist on the Benzema second goal, Benz got back to his early season form, and Vinicius Júnior made another solid cameo and picked up an assist.
As to whether or not the club can keep this run of form going is yet to be determined, but for now, let’s revel in the fact that Santi Solari is three for three in his first few matches in charge.
