All in all, it was a wonderful performance by Real Madrid. Of course, things can be adjusted an improved upon but it seems that Santiago Solari has his team heading in the right direction. Madrid looked very fluid on the pitch moving the ball through channels with great accuracy.
With 15 attempts and 4 turning into goals, Real earned themselves a 26% conversion rate. Far better than their October blues where they struggled to create chances let alone score goals.
Despite having players like Dani Carvajal and Marcelo out due to injury the youngsters have stepped up big, and Solari’s confidence has paid dividends. Players like Sergio Regullion and Alvaro Odrizola have come up big for Real showing a mature mindset at such an early stage in their careers.
After the victory against Celta, Real now sit in sixth place just four points off of league leaders Barcelona. The Catalan side was stunned by Real Betis earlier in the day losing 4-3 and stuck at 24 points.
European football is having yet another international break where nations will play in an array of friendlies and competitive matches. Many players are likely to join their national squad and return to Madrid just short of two weeks. Real Madrid’s next match will be against Eibar which will mark Matchday 13 and a great opportunity to close the gap on those above them in the standings.
