Question 1

The case of James Rodriguez is one that is ravaging the minds of Madrid fans worldwide. Many were perplexed when he departed on loan to Bayern last season, especially given his strong campaign with the Bavarian outfit.

However, since last season, Carlo Ancelotti has departed and the midfielder clearly seems out of favor with the current manager, Niko Kovac. Numerous reports of outbursts and being excluded big games, including the recent 3-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund, the state of his future is being called into question. The most recent update from German news outlets is that Bayern will not exercise their right to buy James upon the expiration of his loan. Music to the ears of Madrid fans? Not so fast.

Despite an imminent exit seemingly almost certain at this point, is a return to Madrid a guarantee? It’s hard to say. Whilst the player clearly adores the club, saying it was his dream to play here, he left in the first place as a result of Zidane and his favored choice of utilizing Isco.

Whilst the debate over who is better would run on for eternity – Isco is still a key figure in Madrid. So one will wonder, where does James fit in? I believe ultimately it will come down to whether he can find regular minutes in Madrid that’ll decide his fate.

Interest from Premier League hotshots Manchester United and also from Serie A giants, Juventus are currently the biggest rumors of his possible destination should Madrid choose to sell the Colombian upon his return. At this point, it remains unclear until his loan spell is over.
