Question 4:

Whilst I partially answered this in the previous slide – the most likely arrivals will be Hermoso and the young Argentine midfielder, Palacios, by this point that seems all but nailed on. Though, it is clear that an extra attacker wouldn’t go amiss.

More from The Real Champs

Given the continued poor form of Gareth Bale, another option may be something worth considering. Reports have recently suggested that the board have begun to lose their faith in Benzema and Bale, even though the former has picked up his form.

Although, in the current market, options are scarce. Icardi’s release clause has now expired, Kane inked a new long-term deal and Hazard isn’t going to ditch London midway through a campaign, neither will the rest quite frankly.

Rumors have swirled throwing names like Radamel Falcao and Memphis Depay into the proverbial ring, however, the former is now 33 and would command big wages and the latter may work out to be considerably expensive, even if he is in stellar form of late.

I personally feel that due to the lack of action in the summer, a lot of the ideal targets are not feasible which means action must be taken next year – surely we can’t afford yet another lackluster summer window!

Onto the second part and what a damn rollercoaster it has been for managers in Madrid this season. Lopetegui sacked in October, Solari temporarily appointed, rumors of Conte, Martinez, and Wenger – it’s hard to keep up! However, Solari was given a long-term deal until 2021 following three wins in his interim period. So given the length of his deal, I’d imagine that unless he absolutely flounders (let us hope not!), he will remain Madrid manager until Perez swings his proverbial axe.

Not much else to say on that one. However, hypothetically, should Solari be chopped come seasons end – the potential for Pochettino lurks. The Argentine looks to be all but out of the Champions League and is seeing his Spurs project stagnate. Perhaps he will want to move onto a fresh challenge?
