Question 5

Ah, don’t we all wonder this? Wouldn’t we all love to just have a peer into the mind of Perez to just see how that maverick mind works? What goes on in there? Is there a portrait of Neymar just nailed to his brain?… Probably!

In all seriousness, however, it seems clear that Perez was so frustrated at missing out on Neymar that he is just hoovering up any and all prodigious young talent. It just turns out that a few of them appear to be midfielders more than anything else. Although, defensively, Madrid have some incredible potential talents in the forms of Odriozola, Reguilón, Javi Sanchez etc. The only missing piece there is arguably another CB.

I do, however, feel the anguish when it comes to signing forwards. Given the age’s of some of the stars and the poor form of others and in some cases both – signing both present-day talents and the talents of tomorrow would certainly be a thought at the forefront of most minds – one would imagine. There is certainly a need for an immediate impact purchase, in terms of the future?

With Rodrygo coming in and the potential signing of Pedrinho to partner the already huge potential of Vinicius Jr, tomorrow looks incredibly bright for Madrid. Although, as mentioned previously, signing a forward who can make an immediate impact that is readily available in the winter looks near impossible – let’s just hope that next summer is one of considerably more action than the previous one.
