Is a Galactico summer on the way?

First of all, how cool is that picture? Good times!

The signings of ‘tomorrow’ are certainly something we all like to see. Investing in the future is smart – especially when you consider that Madrid has failed to do this with certain stars in the past.

However, the club is clearly in need of a squad refresh. While some of the current class that currently represents the club has seen much success in their tenures, father time catches up to everyone and there are a number of stars on the wrong side of the fence when it comes to their ages. Marcelo, Sergio Ramos, Karim Benzema and Luka Modric are all beyond 30 and sadly, they cannot play forever.

The club is set with youngsters in a lot of positions who are capable of assuming those roles in the immediate future – the now is also worth considering and it is a moment in time that Madrid NEED to invest in.

The sale of Cristiano Ronaldo has really caused a lot of problems in attack. There are players capable of contributing, nobody is capable of being the man of the moment so far this season, nor does anyone look capable of 40-50 goals per season.

By comparison, this season Benzema is the top scorer for the team in La Liga with five. The next best? Sergio Ramos with four and then Gareth Bale with three. Those are not exactly the best numbers.

Even though the future of players like Vinicius Júnior and Rodrygo looks bright, Real Madrid needs some fresh options soon who can make immediate impacts in all areas, particularly in attack.

Given the current market, Madrid will need to spend big to attain those players, so in conclusion, signing future talent is fantastic but the current form of our stars indicates the club is in need of some players that are making an impact now and not in five years time, else we will falter and be left behind.

However, that is merely just one of the problems at the club right now.
