Midfielders

Toni Kroos – B
Like many of the players in the squad, Toni Kroos has had some ups and downs while he didn’t really start the season at his best. Things seem to be improving for the German who is an integral part of the team.

More from The Real Champs

Luka Modric – C+
The current Balon d’Or winner would have probably liked to have a better campaign so far. Due to fatigue from the World Cup, Modric has not been anywhere close to his best for most of the season so far but picked up in the last month or so. Let’s just hope he continues regaining form and reaches that peak as we’ll be desperately needing him.

Casemiro – B+
A vital part of the Real Madrid setup, Casemiro has continued to show why he’s so important to this team. His injury put us on the back foot for a while until Solari was able to find a perfect replacement in Marcos Llorente

Marcos Llorente – A+
What a sudden turn of events for Marcos Llorente! After barely making any appearances last season, finding himself off of numerous squad lists this season, Solari was finally convinced to take a chance on the youngster and hasn’t turned back since. Constant almost perfect performances and moments that he will cherish for the rest of his life, Marcos Llorente is in absolutely amazing form at the moment. It will be interesting to see how Solari manages him and Casemiro as the season goes on but there is no doubting that both players will be extremely important.

Federico Valverde – A-
A difficult one to really grade fairly as he hasn’t made many appearances with a lot of his moments being off the bench but Valverde has been showing a lot of promise and is doing a brilliant job with however amount of minutes he has been getting. A good addition to the squad and someone we will probably see more of soon.

Marco Asensio – D
For someone who has shown a lot of promise and chosen to be the person to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, Marco Asensio has been very disappointing this season. This is not for a lack of trying but things simply aren’t working out for him right now and many fans are losing their patience.

Dani Ceballos – B-
He’s had an average campaign so far with some great performances and some that were not-so-great. Ceballos has been chosen more often with Lopetegui and Solari seems to trust him as well.

Isco – D+
Started off the season well but things are not going his way anymore. Solari doesn’t look like he’s a fan of Isco currently and whenever the Spaniard is picked, he hasn’t been anywhere near his best. It’s a worrying time for Isco as his future seems to be very unknown at the moment.
