The sinking ship that is Real Madrid right now has sprung yet another leak. Key midfielder Toni Kroos severely injured his left thigh in the Sunday loss to Real Sociedad. Here is the full update.

German international Toni Kroos will join fellow teammates Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio, Marcos Llorente, and Mariano on the injury table. After suffering a woeful loss to struggling Sociedad, the news of Kroos’ injury hits deep into the hearts of Madrid fans

Early Monday morning, the Real Madrid official website released the diagnosis of his injury:

"“Following tests carried out on our player Toni Kroos today by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a grade 2 tear of the adductor muscle in his left leg. His recovery will be monitored.”"

As has been the case since he joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2014, Toni has been a staple of the starting XI regardless of who the manager is. This season has been no different as he has played in all six Champions League matches thus far and 14 of the 18 La Liga matches.

To be perfectly honest, this is a devastating injury for Real as the 29-year-old is slated to miss at least 2-3 weeks but could be longer depending on how his recovery process goes.

Real Madrid fans are not taking the news lightly as they have voiced their displeasure on Twitter.

With so many injuries decimating the squad right now, the pressure is on manager Santiago Solari now more than ever. The former player has to figure out who can step into Toni Kroos’ spot and try and get this team back to winning ways.

Dani Ceballos is the most likely candidate to step into his position and could provide a spark in the mid-week Copa Del Rey clash with Leganes.

We will continue to monitor the status of the midfielder when more news is made available.
