After several players picked up injuries, Real Madrid finally received some good news as two players, Mariano Díaz and Javi Sanchez, returning to training with the first-team on Thursday.

Good news folks! Karim Benzema might not have to play every match for the full 90 minutes now!

Mariano Díaz, who has been hampered by two injuries since returning to the Spanish capital from Lyon, was finally able to return to training after weeks of recovery.

The back-up striker has only managed to feature in nine matches since making his return in late August but could be slated for some more playing time now that he is getting back to full fitness.

Mariano sports the coveted number seven jersey at the club but has been nowhere near as productive as those who have worn the same number before him.

With just one goal to show for, the striker will be looking to show that President Florentino Perez didn’t make a mistake in bringing him back.

Center back Javi Sanchez also completed the full session and is slated to feature in the weekend clash with Real Betis if manager Santiago Solari chooses to use him.

While it is nice to see two players back, there is still a lengthy list of players who were unable to practice with the team. Marco Asensio, Marcos Llorente, Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale and Thibaut Courtois all remained inside the facility as they work on rehabbing.

Those who participated in the match Wednesday night against Leganés went through a light practice which featured jogging and some light ball work.

Karim Benzema, Keylor Navas, and Sergio Ramos all worked inside with the training staff but are not injured – thankfully. Both Navas and Ramos were honored by the city of Madrid with citizen awards.

Ramos was given the Seven Stars of Madrid prize 2016 for Best Male Athlete while Navas was awarded the Ibero-American Community Trophy by the National Sports Council of Spain.
