Midfield
Luka Modric – 7
Luka Modric had a great game in bursts of time as Real Madrid struggled to hold possession for much of the game. When he did have the ball though, he looked to send players through by stretching the play as he went seven for eight on long balls. The Croatian chipped in two interceptions and finished off with another 90% plus pass accuracy.
Marco Llorente – 7
Getting the start ahead of seasoned teammate Casemiro was no doubt a big deal. While some fans called for Llorente to get the go-ahead from Solari many were surprised when it actually happened. Nonetheless, the young man did not slack off, contributing two interceptions along with a tackle and blocked shot. Unfortunately, he had some discomfort and would come off for Casmeiro in the 62-minute.
Toni Kroos – 7
The German rounded off the three midfielders as the metronome was the glue for Madrid as Kroos industriously finished with 95.5% PA from 66 touches, the matches best. The passing sniper went four for four on long balls but completed just one of four crosses. In the end, he helped out in other departments making three tackles.
