Real Madrid played host to Girona on Matchday 24 in La Liga as they looked to regain the second spot over Atletico Madrid. Here’s a look at the match highlights.

Real Madrid was back in action against Girona for Matchday 24. This was the fourth time these two teams met this season with Real looking to go for the sweep. Real played the Catalan side in the quarter-finals of the Copa Del Rey.

Santiago Solari shook up the starting line up a fair bit as Madrid return to league action. Marcelo and Alvaro Odriozola filled in for their positional teammates, while Dani Ceballos was given the chance ahead of Luka Modric.

After Asensio’s great substitute performance against Ajax last week, Solari gave the youngster a spot in the starting XI. Real Madrid had scored at least three goals in their last three meetings with Catalan side looking to make it a fourth.
