Old vs. New

For many, this is a tough question but for me, it’s as simple as who is form right now? If you take a look at the recent form of both Marcelo and Reguilon there is no doubt that the latter is the right option.

Reguilon has been strong in several key matches since the appointment of Solari. The youngster got his chances due to Marcelo’s injury and he’s made use of them, much like Llorente did with Casemiro.

Against Atletico Madrid and Ajax, amongst many other matches, the Spaniard has put himself on the map. In matches, Reguilon has two goal and three assists averaging 2.40 points per match.

On the other hand, Marcelo has three goals and four assists in nine more games, averaging 1.60 points per match which is below the 2.0 team average.

Unless Marcelo steps up his game choosing Reguilon is the right move.
