First Half

Real Madrid started off superbly yet again applying loads of pressure to Barcelona’s midfield. Barcelona would eventually grab hold of the ball and start to assert their dominance against the Whites.

Both teams had plenty of chances in the opening moments of the match with great runs from Vinicius Jr. and brilliant play from Lionel Messi.

Ivan Rakatic would open up the scoring books on Saturday night after a nifty cheap over keeper Thibaut Courtois. There wasn’t much else the goalie could do as we got low and fast trying to close down the shooting lanes.

There would be no other goals in the match but that isn’t to say that this match could have had seven goals or so had it not been for the brilliant performance of both keepers.

Things got a little scrappy towards the closing moments of the opening stanza as both captains went nose to nose. Ramos’ tough challenge on Messi caused the Barcelona Capitan to spring up and get in his counterparts face.
