Conclusion

This wasn’t the result Real Madrid were looking for but this match showcased the potential of this squad. On the plus side, Real Madrid played a stronger overall game against Barcelona today than they did on Wednesday.

Just like their previous meeting Madrid needs to execute on chances more efficieintly if they want to make it to another Champions League Final.

Real Madrid are back on the pitch as they host Ajax on March 5 for leg two of the UCL Round of 16. With a 2-1 lead over Ajax, they will be without Sergio Ramos, so a strong defensive effort will be key.
