Real Madrid prepares to take on Celta Vigo in what will be Zinedine Zidane’s first game since returning to management after leaving nine months ago. Here is a full preview ahead of the match.

Even though Real Madrid has nothing left to play, it will be very interesting to see how the French manager approaches the next 11 games in terms of his lineups. I expect that everyone in the squad will get a chance to show their capabilities at one point or another.

The players will be treating this as a prolonged preseason as they aim to be an important part of the squad for the upcoming season as Zidane has promised “big changes” to come during the summer.

The last time the two clubs met in La Liga, Real Madrid was able to come out with a 4-2 win. Things are looking good for Los Blancos coming in as Celta currently find themselves in 18th place and are at genuine risk of being relegated this season. Therefore, we can expect them to come out fully ready to fight and Los Merengues will have to be extremely careful.

Real Madrid will go into this match without Casemiro who is suspended for this game as well as Marcos Llorente, Lucas Vazquez and Vinicius Junior who are all injured. The good news is the return of Mariano Diaz and Gareth Bale who will both be expected to feature but probably not as starters as Zidane will not want to rush them back.

I expect to see the return of Marcelo and Isco to the starting XI as they both haven’t played in a while and will want to show the manager that they are able to be a vital part of this team. Marcelo hasn’t been having a good season at all but has a golden chance at redemption while Isco’s problems during the season seem to have been erased as he starts yet another new chapter and a chance to show his worth.

Predicted Starting Lineup:

Thibaut Courtois, Alvaro Odriozola, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Federico Valverde, Luke Modric, Toni Kroos, Isco, Marco Asensio, Karim Benzema
