Reports have emerged that Real Madrid has reached an agreement with wayward PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot. Could it be true?

After being considered “a hostage” of Paris Saint-Germain by his mother, midfielder Adrien Rabiot could make a surprise move to Spain in the summer.

The 23-year-old Frenchmen has been relegated to only training since December 12th when he featured as a last-minute substitute in the Champions League match against FK Crvena Zvezda.

After not reaching an agreement with PSG and causing a stir amongst fans after a video emerged of Rabiot out partying hours after his team was eliminated from the Champions League by Manchester United.

Since that incident earlier this month, Rabiot has become a ghost. He still hasn’t featured in a match and is missing from training frequently.

Rumor has it the cast out will leave his native country and join Real Madrid and fellow Frenchman Zinedine Zidane over the summer. Rabiot could very well join on a free contract this summer saving president Florentino Perez a boatload of money while also picking up a valuable asset in the midfield.

Rabiot did get some solid minutes in this season in league play as he featured in over 1,000 minutes and scored two goals and added an assist. His great passing and vision could make him the perfect replacement for Luka Modric when he decides to call it quits or even be the depth player if Mateo Kovacic ends up staying with Chelsea.

Liverpool, Arsenal, and FC Barcelona are all in the running for Adrien Rabiot but it appears he favors Real Madrid over them all.

This could be a gem of a signing for the club if Rabiot can keep his act together off the field. He could be a bit of a gamble given how stubborn he has been with PSG in recent months, but I am sure the quality of his play on the field will outweigh the bad off the field.

Signing a talented player like this on a free contract is an absolute steal for Perez. He can save a lot of money and go out and sign some bigger names if he so chooses.
