The winger put in strong performances against the likes of Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Ajax, despite the fact that the squad largely faltered this season. With the sacking of Argentine coach, Santi Solari, many were wondering what the return of Zinedine Zidane would have meant for the Brazilian. Given the club has been vigorously pursuing Chelsea superstar, Eden Hazard, there was growing concern that the development of the wonder-kid could be hampered.

However, Zidane, who has been known for his strong rotation policy has reportedly got complete trust in the Brazilian’s abilities to lead the line for Real Madrid next season. Given Zidane’s work done with Marco Asensio previously, who stalled following the Frenchman’s departure, the possibility of youngster under Zidane is promising.

Asensio showed his best form under Zizou at Real Madrid and this should boost confidence in the improvement of Vinicius Jr. dazzling with the ball at his feet, the tricky winger certainly does not lack confidence in taking defences on and creating danger. However, his finishing ability leaves a lot to be desired.

With continued game-time and confidence from Zidane, Vinicius Jr could very well go up to the next level next season, even if the club were to sign Eden Hazard. With Zidane rotating his men and Vinicius Jr continuing to learn from those around him, the future looks bright for Real Madrid. The coach is already impressed by Brahim Diaz and Fede Valverde, two youngsters who have huge promise. Could they all become prominent figures in Spain next season?
