As the season now begins to draw to a close, Zinedine Zidane and Real Madrid must consider their roster for next season. With rumors of incoming and outgoing stars, there is one area that is a particular problem: the right flank.

Currently, Real Madrid possesses 3 players who are able to occupy the right flank: Gareth Bale, Marco Asensio and Lucas Vasquez. Whilst it’s not posed a problem so far this year – the new season could pose an issue as there is an overflow of talent looking to nail down a position. With Martin Ødegaard and Rodrygo Goes making their way to the Spanish capital, suddenly Real Madrid has 5 players for one position.

Whilst all are capable of playing elsewhere, the solution is not so simple. The left flank is occupied by Vinicius Jr who looks like he could have a partner in the heavily linked, Eden Hazard. With the two likely to rotate, that position is nailed down. Only Gareth Bale and potentially Rodrygo Goes can occupy the centre forward role, Karim Benzema and Mariano already share that area. This is before you consider the returning Mayoral, Raul De Tomas and the possible signing of Luka Jovic. Another area taken care of.

It appears that Zinedine Zidane has a selection headache on his hands, with an abundance of talent and only so many minutes to share, the Frenchman has a decision to make. With the aforementioned incoming and outgoing players, we breakdown who should/may remain and who should/may leave.
