The worst kept secret of the past couple years has gathered momentum yet again as the season ends and Florentino Perez admitting that he is interested in bringing Eden Hazard to the club. Things have been fueled even further as the Belgian admitted that the clubs are negotiating and he is ready for a move.
Eden Hazard was pivotal in what could have been his final match for Chelsea after they beat Arsenal 4-1 in the UEFA Europa League Final with Hazard scoring twice and assisting Pedro’s goal as well. After the match ended, all eyes were on him and he was more than prepared to answer any and every question that came his way.
Speaking to BeIn Sports, Hazard said “I want a new challenge like I said last year after the World Cup but it didn’t happen so now it is between both clubs so we will see. I am still waiting like you are waiting and like the fans are waiting. I will always support Chelsea and I love them. I don’t know if it is a goodbye but if it is, thank you for these seven years.”
The Belgian then went a step further during his post-match interview with BT Sport as he admitted that everything will be clear in “a couple of days” as the fans of both clubs now wait to see how things progress with many expecting him to join the Spanish capital.
In addition to Hazard’s comments, other Chelsea players have made it clear that there is a big chance that the player will be moving as Cesar Aziplicueta, Willian and David Luiz all spoke about how they will be missing him if he leaves the club and how loved he is within the club and the country.
Eden Hazard is expected to be one of many to join Real Madrid this summer after the club have had a disastrous season. Other players that have been spoken about throughout the media are Luka Jovic, Ferland Mendy, Paul Pogba and others as Zidane prepares his squad to fight again next season.
