Potential reasons for Bale’s unwillingness to move

It is beyond me how he is not moving heaven and earth to get out of this situation and to get a more respectable role at another club. Even Morata left Madrid because he wanted to be a starter.

It’s a different thing that it didn’t work out for him at Chelsea, but at least he had ambition and he believed in his abilities to be a starter. Where is Bale’s ambition? Why is he content with sitting on the bench and wasting away whatever is left of his prime years? It befuddles me, really it does.

Is it because he is too comfortable at Real Madrid? After all, it is a known devil and the biggest club in the world. Going anywhere else is a step down. He has said before that he doesn’t read whatever is being said about him and blocks out the fans whistles on the field.

Has he gotten so far into his shell that he just doesn’t see that the club, the coach and the fans don’t want to see him in Madrid? If he is just surrounding himself by people like his agent, then, strangely, it is possible.

Or is it all about the money? No one is lining up to pay a decent transfer fee for an almost 30-year-old, heavily injury prone player, with sky-high wages.

Bale knows that he has a contract till 2022 with Madrid and he will have to take a big cut in wages if he goes elsewhere, assuming any club wants him. If it’s really just about the money, he may be content with sitting on the bench and playing golf, so long as he is getting his fat paycheck.
