There is officially a new manager in at Castilla. Real Madrid goal-scoring legend, Raul, has officially taken over the B team ahead of the coming season. The promotion was actually made official as of April 9th, however, it wasn’t made official to the press until this week.

The Spaniard officially completed his UEFA coaching course this week which allowed him to take over the B team. The former striker has made his ascent up the ladder at the club, managing Cadete B (ages 14-15) and Juvenil B (U-18’s). With now former coach Jose Manuel Diaz finishing 8th last season, Raul takes over a side that will also be welcoming some exciting talent in the form of Rodrygo Goes and Japanese wonder-kid Takefuso Kubo.

Raul’s time in-charge of both Cadete B and Juvenile B were incredibly successful. Initially placed in charge of Cadete B, the side he lead for most of the season finished as league champions with an unbeaten record. If Raul is able to keep up his already successful start, he could very well guide Castilla to success. It has been noticed that Real’s B team has seen something of a downturn in success lately, despite stars still being produced. All eyes will be on the dug-out next season as many wonder whether Raul will bring the same success as a manager that he did as a player.
