Real Madrid is prepared to offload another player this summer and it will be another loan deal for a fringe midfield player. Reports from Spain are indicating that Dani Ceballos will join Arsenal on a year long loan deal in the next few days.

After impressing during the U-21 European Championship this summer and helping to lead the Spanish team to the title, young midfielder Dani Ceballos could be heading out on a year long loan deal.

AS has reported that Ceballos could fly to London on Tuesday to conduct his medical and sign the contract with the Gunners making the deal official. Of course, that would mean Ceballos would not feature once for Real Madrid in any competitive or preseason match.

The deal will not include an option to buy, meaning regardless of how he performs this season, Ceballos will be back with Los Blancos in 2020.

For both parties involved, this seems like a very good deal. Arsenal need some depth and a possible regular in the midfield and Zinedine Zidane doesn’t feel the need to start the Spanish international over Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, or even Isco.

Plus, over the past two years, Dani Ceballos has shown enough skill to dethrone the three other players who man the middle of the park. Starting fewer than 20 matches over two seasons with Real Madrid, there is a decent chance Ceballos plays that many or more against great competition in the Premier League.

When I first saw the news, I was a bit disappointed because I wanted to see how Ceballos would fit into the newly formed first team, especially after how dominant he was this summer with Spain.

Yet, I see the reasoning behind wanting to send him to England for more significant playing time. Dani has outstanding potential and incredible skill already. This could be the season where he starts to make a name for himself.

With Kroos and Modric a few years away from walking away from the beautiful game, Dani Ceballos could be in perfect position to be the next star for Zidane and Real Madrid. That all starts with this loan deal with Arsenal.

Let’s hope the rumors are true and the deal is done soon!
