Real Madrid is interested in 24-year-old midfielder Bruno Fernandes according to multiple reports. The talented player for Sporting Lisbon could be close to signing for Los Blancos ahead of the transfer deadline on Monday. Here’s the latest.

Something that has become a constant for Real Madrid over the last decade is high quality midfielders who play a big role in building up the attack and helping to control possession.

We have seen players like Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Isco, James Rodriguez, and for a brief period Mateo Kovacic dominate in that role. Now, with Kovacic and CDM Marcos Llorente now gone and Dani Ceballos out on loan with Arsenal, Bruno Fernandes could be the shock signing of the summer window for Madrid.

Rumors from Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Pradè and media powers around Spain and Portugal say that Fernandes could join Zinedine Zidane for €70 million ahead of September 2nd’s transfer deadline.

The promising player who bagged 32 goals in 53 appearances last season with Sporting CP is likely the one player who could still sign for the Spanish giants before the window closes.

While at the press conference announcing the arrival of Dalbert at Fiorentina, Pradè said, “Bruno Fernandes will go to Real Madrid for €70 million. “Sporting could be finished in the market because Bruno Fernandes will go to Real Madrid.”

The thought of this move going through is incredibly intriguing because of what Fernandes has been able to do in the last few seasons playing in Liga NOS. His passing, dribbling, and off-ball movement are truly a sight to behold.

His recent form has earned him copious amounts of attention from big clubs around Europe – Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign Bruno for €60 million but the offer was rejected – and he has seen a huge increase in playing time with the Portuguese national team as well.

I look at Bruno Fernandes as the next Bernardo Silva and the thought of him linking up with the likes of Eden Hazard, Kross, Vinicius, and the other young players is something I think Perez and Zidane should not pass up.

Bruno has been instrumental in helping Sporting CP compete with SL Benfica in the league, but it is clear that the 24-year-old is ready for a bigger club and more responsibility. Real Madrid can without a doubt provide that and help him to become a world class player.

If there is still money in the budget, this move needs to happen!
