Real Madrid prepare to take on Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuain Stadium tonight as they are hosted by a team that are currently tied for first place in the standings.
After the horror show that we witnessed against Paris Saint-Germain last week, Real Madrid are expected to fight back on the pitch tonight and show that they really mean business. Zidane blamed the lack of intensity for our Champions League loss and therefore it’s highly expected that we will be seeing an energetic Real Madrid team who will fight for every ball and do what they can to create chances, something that they failed to do in midweek.

As for Sevilla, they have been flying so far this season as they are yet to lose a single match in the campaign. With the former Real Madrid manager at the helm in Julen Lopetegui, it seems as though he has been able to make his ideas work there after failing to do so one year ago at the Spanish Capital. Also, due to the “no fear” clause, Real Madrid’s promising left-back Sergio Reguilon (who was promoted to the first team by Lopetegui) currently on loan at Sevilla will be able to play against us as he’s been one of their best players so far this year. Another former Los Blancos player will also line up against his old club as Chicharito will show that he still has what it takes.
As if Real Madrid’s early season problems including a terrible 3-0 loss to PSG wasn’t enough motivation, last night saw their two biggest competitors in the league drop points as Atletico Madrid were held to a 0-0 draw against Celta Vigo while Granda shocked everyone by beating Barcelona 2-0 in the late night match. Winning today will see Los Merengues in first place ahead of both teams on points and possibly tied with Athletic Bilbao if the Basque team are able to beat Alaves.
Predicted Lineups:
Zinedine Zidane isn’t expected to make any major changes to the squad that played against PSG last week as he’ll probably leave the rotation policy for the next La Liga match against Osasuna later this week before they take on Atletico Madrid during the weekend.
The good news is that Real Madrid finally have the opportunity to call up more than just three midfielders as Federico Valverde has returned from his injury and has been deemed fit enough to be called up. He probably won’t start the match but he’ll be a good option to have off the bench.
The only expected change to the lineup will be the return of Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos who will be taking the place of Eder Militao while the rest of the lineup will be the same.
It seems as though Zidane will continue trusting Dani Carvajal at right-back as Alvaro Odriozola has not been called up due to technical decisions along with Mariano Diaz. Marcelo, Luka Modric, Marco Asensio, Isco and Brahim Diaz have also not been called up as they continue to recover from their injuries.
Predicted Real Madrid XI:
Thibaut Courtois, Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Ferland Mendy, Carlos Casemiro, Toni Kroos, James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale, Eden Hazard, Karim Benzema
Predicted Sevilla XI:
Tomas Vaclik, Jesus Navas, Diego Carlos, Daniel Carrico, Sergio Reguilon, Joan Jordan, Fernando, Ever Banega, Lucas Ocampos, Nolito, Chicharito
