Dani Ceballos has always been an outspoken player as you don’t usually have to think very hard about what is going on in his mind. He’s always made his opinions very clear and the talented midfielder has done it once again as he spoke about his time in London compared to Spain and Real Madrid.

Ever since his one-year loan move to Arsenal, Ceballos has been ‘discovered’ by the English fans and they have fallen in love with him. During his time there so far, he has made a name for himself and has proven to be integral to the team that Gunners manager Unai Emery is building.

The midfielder has shown his impressive abilities so far and looks like he’s beginning to “enjoy football” once again after his time with Real Madrid didn’t go as planned before his move.

"“It was clear that I wanted to leave. I have been successful in leaving and now I am where I want to be and I’m very happy. My idea was to leave, play and enjoy football. In the previous two years, I have not done that.”"

Those are the words Ceballos used during international duty as per Marca’s article.

Of course, any player has the right to speak their mind and more importantly, they also have the right to play at a club that they feel comfortable and happy in. It is actually really great to see that Dani Ceballos is at his best and getting playing time that he genuinely deserves.

Having said that, these words will not go down well with Real Madrid even though they’ll definitely make him a lot more loved with the Gunner fans.

At the end of this season, Ceballos will have no choice but to return to Real Madrid once his loan is over and instead of having hope that things will be different upon his return after shining with Arsenal and Spain throughout the season, he may have made things a little more difficult for himself.

If his plan was to force a permanent move, this could be the way to do it but it’s definitely not the correct way.

Since Ceballos signed for Real Madrid, Zidane was never a big fan of his. After the manager’s departure, it looked like the midfielder would slowly be able to fight his way into the lineup but Zidane’s return has made that difficult once again and his move last summer was expected by everyone.

Initially, it was good to see that he was going to a top league and only on loan, but it seems that he’ll be doing whatever he can to make a move permanent next summer.

What Ceballos said will probably be taken as disrespectful by the higher-ups at Real Madrid but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it is disrespectful. In the end, he wanted to play and he wasn’t getting that at Real Madrid.

However, we all know how these things come across sometimes and I would not be surprised if this was one of the times.

Real Madrid fans in general are massive fans of the young midfielder and it does hurt to see this and know that his Real Madrid story may actually be over before it ever really started. However, as I have said time and time again, if a player wants to leave the club, then let them leave.

Ceballos is no exception regardless of how much I was hoping for him to come back and succeed. He never stated that he wants to leave and that will be something that he will talk to the club about rather than the media. Therefore, it’s still early to speak about the summer transfers as anything can happen between now and then.
