Real Madrid have announced their 19-man squad for Wednesday’s game against Leganes, and here are the key takeaways.

While Real Madrid managed to pick up all three points in last week’s must-win Champions League fixture at Galatasaray, they will want to put in a much more convincing display on Wednesday against Leganes.

Los Blancos will also be careful not to underestimate their opposition, as that was a critical mistake they made in their last La Liga appearance. Leganes may be the last-place team in the league, but any team in the first division has the potential to net an upset victory. Mallorca taught Zinedine Zidane’s current Madrid squad that much last week, when they upset Los Blancos 1-0 in what was an abysmal performance by Real’s attack.

With a few key players returning to the lineup this week, there can be no excuses for Zidane or the players on the pitch. Everything from the tactics to the execution needs to be better. Since Real are coming off of a week of rest, they should be fresh to give everything they have against a struggling Leganes side.

Above is the official 19-man squad for this La Liga matchup, and below are four takeaways based on the players in (and out) of the lineup on Wednesday.

Again, nothing less than a thoroughly professional display from Los Blancos will be accepted, as that is the high standard set at the club. The Santiago Bernabeu faithful will be looking forward to bags of goals, in addition to quality defending.
