Real Madrid made quick work of Leganes on Wednesday, shutting down La Liga’s worst team in a much-needed 5-0 victory.

Although Real Madrid had already recorded a critical bounce-back win over Galatasaray after stumbling to Mallorca in their first game following the October international break, Madridistas were far from satisfied with the team’s narrow first win in this season’s Champions League campaign.

However, Real put together their most professional display on Wednesday against Leganes. Everyone expected Los Blancos to make quick work of La Liga’s last-place team, but, then again, fans also expected an easy win on the road against Mallorca.

So Zinedine Zidane didn’t excessively rotate out his starters, wanting a complete performance from a strong starting XI. And that’s exactly what he received on Wednesday, as Real Madrid absolutely blew Leganes out of the water in a 5-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.

It was a satisfying result from a team that has left the Bernabeu faithful underwhelmed several times this season. Though it is fair to point out that the last time they played at the Bernabeu before the 5-0 win over Leganes, they scored four goals in a win over then second-place Granada.

The Leganes game featured a number of impressive performances en route to a dominant victory, and here’s a pick of just five such displays from key starters.
