The links between Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappe have been so strong that even Zinedine Zidane spoke openly about how the French international dreams of playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, and there’s yet another rumor pointing towards the likelihood of this deal happening in the future.

Real Madrid have their eyes on a number of talented players across Europe, but there isn’t a single player who has caught their fancy more than Kylian Mbappe.

The PSG forward is the world’s most valuable and gifted player, having just about no weaknesses to his game as an attacking player. Mbappe was one of the best players at the 2018 World Cup, is coming off a sensational scoring season in the 2018-2019 Ligue 1 campaign, and has been in great form since returning from an injury.

Florentino Perez will pay whatever sum of money is required to bring the world’s biggest star to his club next summer (or in 2021), and PSG’s potentially troublesome negotiations with Mbappe could benefit Los Blancos.

As MARCA relays, French newspaper L’Equipe reports that while PSG obviously want to renew Mbappe’s contract before it runs out in 2022, they may be coming to a realization that they simply can’t get a deal done.

Per L’Equipe, PSG cannot afford to pay Mbappe 30 million euros, which is the sum of fellow superstar Neymar’s wages. Mbappe is more valuable to PSG than Neymar because he’s younger, healthier, and a more prolific scorer. So if Mbappe would have to make less than Neymar in the wage structure, that could become problematic. Real Madrid, on the other hand, surely have the budget to make Mbappe their highest-paid player.

There’s a high likelihood Mbappe plays for Real Madrid one day, and the fact that PSG will presumably run into issues in negotiations is another indication that a move to Spain will inevitably happen. Mbappe loves Paris, his club, and will do whatever it takes to win the Champions League this season (PSG look like the favorites in the early going), but he may still head to Los Blancos even if the Ligue 1 giants finally achieve Champions League glory.

As always, anything regarding Mbappe, PSG, and Real is worth monitoring closely, as this will continue to be the biggest transfer saga in football over the next several months.
