CF Karim Benzema

After scoring twice in an excellent game on Wednesday, Karim Benzema picked up where he left off on Saturday with two more goals to his tally. Benzema now has nine goals in 11 La Liga appearances this season, putting him in the conversation as the best overall player in the league thus far. There is no doubt that he has been La Liga’s top striker through Matchday 13.

Although one of Benzema’s goal was a penalty won by Eden Hazard and Lucas Vazquez’s link-up play, the first goal was all him. He finished with his left foot from a tight angle to clean up the chance he started, as his spellbinding footwork enabled him to penetrate Eibar’s penalty box to begin this dangerous chance.

Benzema was a constant threat, linking up with Hazard to a devastating effect. He troubled Eibar’s goalkeeper all night long, finishing with three shots on target and five total shots. More impressively, Benzema completed four dribbles, constantly threatening Eibar’s defense when on the ball.

It’s been a joy to watch Benzema and Hazard shine together over the past couple of weeks, and the France international’s form has been tremendous all season long. Benzema, Hazard, and Rodrygo currently form one of the world’s most potent attacking trios.
