Real Madrid: Top 5 performances from 4-0 win over Eibar
LW Eden Hazard
Eden Hazard deserves all the superlatives for his performance on Matchday 13, as he was simply untouchable in the first half. Hazard brought it all to the table in 71 action-packed minutes before making way for teenager Vinicius Junior. He drew a penalty, set up the penalty that Lucas Vazquez forced, did a rabona at full speed, fluidly nutmegged a defender with a backheel during a counterattack, and was genuinely impossible to stop when on the ball.
This was the type of performance that Madridistas envisioned when Florentino Perez spent more than 100 million euros to sign Hazard from Chelsea after identifying the Belgian winger as his top target this summer.
Hazard may have started slowly, but he now has three straight La Liga appearances with at least six dribbles completed. Box score watchers will complain about the fact that his only goal and assist came before the October international break against Granada, but everybody else who isn’t trolling understands the profound impact Hazard has on Real Madrid.
He was untouchable again on Saturday, as Eibar were simply left helpless and stunned by his skills, just as so many Premier League teams have in the past. He is truly a special talent on the left side of the attack.
