It has been a year of ups and downs for Real Madrid, but there is so much to be thankful for.

Real Madrid are locked in a title race with bitter rivals FC Barcelona, and the only thing that is keeping them from being in first place is their goal differential. By and large, Real have been the best team in La Liga and have looked especially dominant in recent weeks, defeating Real Sociedad 3-1 on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Champions League has been a little less kind to Los Blancos, but Zinedine Zidane’s side will still comfortably make it into the knockout stages. They recently outplayed PSG but only came away with a 2-2 draw after collapsing in the final 10 minutes.

It feels like Real are on the cusp of having everything click, as Zidane has a real chance at winning his fourth Champions League title as the club’s manager. Real Madrid fans have so many reasons to be thankful this campaign, even if things did start out rough in the months of August and September.

Here are five things that fans of Los Merengues fans should be especially thankful for, as we celebrate Thanksgiving Day before the team faces Alaves on Saturday in La Liga.
