Real Madrid left winger Vinicius Junior is one of the world’s most talented teenagers, so it’s no surprise that the Premier League clubs are rumored to be swarming with their pocketbooks ready.

Consistent playing time hasn’t been easy to come by for Vinicius Junior in 2019-2020 due to all the talent in the Real Madrid squad, but whenever he’s been on the pitch for Los Blancos this season, he’s managed to assert himself on the game.

Vinicius is often a vital spark to Real’s attack, constantly carrying the ball into the opposition’s final third and tirelessly tracking back to defend. He’s the epitome of an unselfish worker, making his teammates better whenever he can. And once his finishing starts to improve with experience, there will be no defense capable of stopping him.

Many teams want to get their hands on a player of Vinicius’ class, so it’s unsurprising to see El Desmarque’s Jorge Santos report that Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Tottenham (Jose Mourinho alert), and Wolves are all interested in Vinicius.

United and Wolves have basically no chance, regardless of how deep United’s pocketbooks are. And no, a Pogba-Vinicius swap is not happening. As for Spurs, a Mourinho swoop seems intriguing but also improbable. Arsenal have been linked to Vinicius before, but, as per usual, any transfer rumor involving the Gunners and a player “above their league” leads to ridiculous swaps and transfer figures proposed.

Chelsea stand out as an interesting name. They have a player Real could use in N’Golo Kante, but his age makes a swap deal unlikely. Vinicius could help Chelsea in their youth movement and push towards being a force in the Premier League again, but they would have to part ways with some serious cash to sign Vinicius.

That’s because Real Madrid have no real interest in selling Vinicius, no matter what the rumor mill says, nor should they. 19-year-olds with successful Champions League appearances and regular minutes at Real Madrid – and Ballon d’Or potential – are extremely expensive. And clubs like Real don’t sell top young players who are consistently producing.

If Vinicius ends up leaving Real, there is only one destination that seems realistic. And it’s a club with even deeper pocketbooks than the Premier League sides.

PSG have Kylian Mbappe, who is an even more talented young prospect on Real Madrid’s radar. They reportedly want and value Vinicius highly, so if any move with the 19-year-old Brazilian happens, then it will be his involvement in a Mbappe swap. Moreover, that swap would only happen if PSG play hardball, as they’ve done with Neymar, and specifically ask for cash plus Vinicius from Los Blancos.

The Premier League clubs can dream, but none of them should expect Real Madrid to sell Vinicius Junior to them for anything other than a ridiculous sum of cash.
