Los Blancos once again had to settle for a goalless draw on Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu against Athletic Bilbao, as they were robbed multiple times by the post and by great goalkeeping/defending from the visitors.
The match ratings reflect great performances from the defense, hard work in the midfield, and solid-but-inconsistent displays from the front three.
GK Thibaut Courtois
Thibaut Courtois made some more big saves in this game and continues to be one of the best goalkeepers in the league. His turnaround in form over the last couple of months has been a sight to behold. Although the final header of the game from Bilbao was ruled offsides, Courtois should still be praised for his point-blank save. He was the difference between a clean sheet and a surprise loss at the Bernabeu.
