Real Madrid are set to terminate Jesus Vallejo’s unsuccessful loan deal with Wolves after only six months, and it looks like Eintracht Frankfurt and Leganes are early favorites to land the center back on a second loan deal.
Although the vast majority of Real Madrid loanees, specifically Martin Odegaard and Sergio Reguilon in La Liga this season, have enjoyed a great deal of success, a handful need another change of scenery to obtain more game time.
Real Madrid have already considered terminating multiple loans made to Ronaldo’s Real Valladolid, and they are in the midst of ending Jesus Vallejo’s loan deal with Wolves.
Vallejo is a talented 22-year-old defender who could be a key backup for Real Madrid in the near future, but he needs playing time to develop. And at Wolves, he’s received precious little opportunities, earning only 162 minutes across two appearances.

According to Alvaro Estevez Ingelmo of AS, Vallejo’s loan with Wolves could end in the “coming days”, as Wovles manager Nuno Santos has given the green light for the deal to end. The manager was understanding, noting Vallejo’s disappointment at receiving so little playing time and his need for game time as a young player.
Since Vallejo’s loan deal terminating is a mere formality at this point, it’s become interesting to look at which teams he could join for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season.
AS reports that Eintracht Frankfurt and Leganes are two of the most interested teams.
Leganes currently have Oscar Rodriguez on loan from Real, and he’s scored some wonderful goals this season, exceeding expectations as a star attacking midfielder for one of La Liga’s worst sides.
Frankfurt look like the favorites for Vallejo, though. He had a highly successful loan spell there a couple of years ago, receiving more than 2,000 minutes of playing time while developing a high reputation for himself in the Bundesliga. Hence why Eintracht are so keen to bring him back for at least a half-season loan.
Vallejo could flourish in the Bundesliga again, as it’s a great league for young players, especially loanees from top clubs. Real Madrid have seen this first-hand both with Vallejo in the past and with Achraf Hakimi on his current spell with Borussia Dortmund.
